The Metro Mix Chorus has been singing and entertaining in the
Eastern Iowa area since 1964. Singing in one of America's original
musical styles, four-part barbershop harmony, the chorus has placed in
the top five choruses at Regional Competition consistently throughout
its history. We participated at the International Competitions held in
Atlanta, Georgia in 1999 and Portland, Oregon in 2001 and in Phoenix, Arizona in September of 2003. The chorus is under
the direction of Beverly Hamilton, Master Director.
We draw our members from a broad geographic area, including Iowa City,
Coralville, Kalona, Washington, Keota, Oxford, Cedar Rapids, Marion,
Muscatine,
Dubuque, Walker, West Des Moines, Lisbon, Swisher, Vinton,
Fairfax, West Branch and Riverside, Iowa; and Dixon, Rock Falls and
Sterling, Illinois.
